Wayland Holding Open House to Showcase Need for New DPW Building

The event begins at 7 p.m.

On Nov. 4, at 7 p.m., the Wayland Department of Public Works will hold an open house at its current facility to showcase the need for a new building, according to an announcement from town hall.

"This will be a great opportunity for residents to see the condition of the existing facility and also hear about detailed plans for a new DPW facility to be located off River Road.  There will be members of the DPW staff and Board of Public Works on hand, as well as a presentation on the design and location of the new DPW facility.  This will also provide a forum to answer any questions from members of the public," the announcement reads.

The current DPW building is in "deplorable" shape, according to a Board of Public Works letter.

Voters at the Nov. 20 special town meeting will have the chance to approve funding for a new facility.
