New Studio Will Bring Spinning, Stretching to Wayland-Weston Border

Spinning Lotus Studios is bringing spin classes and yoga classes to the Wayland, Weston area.

Rhonda Skloff said it was a feeling of wanting to find a home that led to her decision to open Spinning Lotus Studios at 16 Boston Post Road in Wayland. The studio, located within yards of Wayland's border with Weston, will be a place where Skloff can settle into her own space, embrace a new challenge and pursue her two passions: spinning and yoga. "They're my two loves," Skloff said of the two forms of activity she plans for her soon-to-open studio. "They're my own passions, and I wanted to bring it together and bring it to the community." A new workshop in Sudbury strives to help people who are recovering from breast cancer make peace with their bodies. Exercise can't cure cancer, but can it help people recover from the illness?

I’ve long been an advocate of fitness as a cure-all. Not only does it make you feel stronger physically, it builds your brain power and boosts your emotional well-being. Personally, I believe that being sick isn’t a hall pass to skip exercising and being in shape helps you bounce back from an illness. As a personal trainer, I haven’t had to test my theory. None of my clients has faced anything more than a head cold or a sore knee, I can’t say for sure what role fitness plays when you get really sick. You know, like the “c-word” sick.
