How Much Did Froyo Sales Raise for Marathon Bombing Victims?

Orange Leaf at Wayland Town Center offered to donate 100 percent of its sales Thursday evening, April 18, to The One Fund for Boston Marathon bombing victims.

For five hours on Thursday evening, frozen yogurt represented more than an opportunity for an after-dinner snack. Friends and neighbors flocked to Orange Leaf frozen yogurt at Wayland Town Center Thursday from 5 p.m.-10 p.m., where owner Berkeley O'Keefe, a Sudbury resident, had pledged to donate 100 percent of sales to The One Fund in support of Boston Marathon bombing victims. "Monday was a huge event," O'Keefe said as customers filled their yogurt cups behind him. "And I just felt that this was an opportunity for us to help." Throughout the store, customers young and old sampled various flavors of froyo before making their choices and then topping them off with everything from fresh fruit to decadent brownie bites. Some of the youngest …

Orange Leaf Frozen Yogurt Shop Opens in Wayland [VIDEO]

Orange Leaf opened its doors on Tuesday, March 5.

It might not have been an ideal day for a frozen treat — with snow swirling outside and temps in the 30s — but that didn't stop a steady stream of customers from going to Orange Leaf last Thursday afternoon. The new frozen yogurt shop in Wayland Town Center opened on Tuesday, March 5, and owner Berkeley O'Keefe said a grand opening will likely be held in May, once it's warmer and the business is off to a good start. "We want to make sure we get it right for people," O'Keefe, a Sudbury resident said. "Hopefully by spring people will know where we are."  The idea for O'Keefe to open an Orange Leaf franchise came after his family traveled to Florida and kept going back to a location they found there.  Wayland Town Center seemed like an ideal …

"The Wayland Board of Health and police chief are speaking out against Ballot Question 3. " I suppose the board of health is supportive of pharmaceuticals that kill 20,000 Americans per year while medical marijuana has killed zero humans in 5,000 years of real world testing? Does the police chief think that 75 more years of failed marijuana prohibition will reduce supply or demand? Not likely. …   more ›

Local Family Excited to Bring Dessert to Wayland Town Center

Berkeley O'Keefe and his family have toyed with the idea of bringing frozen treats to their area for years. With Wayland Town Center, they're getting their chance.

Berkeley O'Keefe and his family love where they live in Sudbury, near the Wayland town line. Everything they've needed during their eight years in town has been readily available and convenient. Well, almost everything. “We always felt it was lacking in the dessert area," O'Keefe said. His family toyed with the idea of opening an ice cream store, even going so far as to dream up ice cream flavors and create them at home. But a trip to Florida changed the focus a bit. The O'Keefe family was on vacation in the Sunshine State when they stumbled across Orange Leaf, a self-serve frozen yogurt shop. Over the course of their vacation, the family found themselves returning again and again, trying different combinations of yogurt and toppings and …

I finally had the chance to visit FYI in Wayland. The flavors were great. I was happy to see that they had sorbets so my son who is lactose intolerant was able to have something to eat. The staff was very helpful and offered me many samples. Also their toppings bar was unbelievable and their yogurt has live active cultures -- Finally I get my Florida yogurt fix locally.   more ›
