Weekly Question: Who is Your Local Hero?
We want to recognize Wayland's local heroes.
'Tis the season for giving, which means it's a perfect time of year to recognize those in Wayland who make a habit of giving all year long. Do you have a neighbor that you admire? Perhaps you know someone who goes above and beyond to do good for the community and their fellow humans. Is there a teacher who has truly changed children's lives? Maybe the guy who mows your lawn always go above and beyond to do a stellar job. Wayland Patch wants to hear about the local person you think deserves a bit of recognition (even if that person would never seek it out him/herself). My first thought was Joan Lynch, but I agree both Katie Lynch and Pam Washek are excellent choices. I have tremendous admiration for Joan (and her family) for their efforts to raise awareness and provide community-based support to help eliminate barriers that people with disabilities encounter.
