What's With All That Construction in Town?
Stop & Shop has applied for a building permit, but that's just one element of the construction going on in Wayland.
Wayland Town Planner Sarkis Sarkisian offered the following updates, except where otherwise noted: Pelham Island Road Bridge This project remains on schedule with what Patch posted Jan. 28. The bridge will close Feb. 27 for a temporary structure to be constructed that will carry utilities across the river. The bridge is expected to reopen temporarily on or about March 16. It will then close for construction of the full bridge on or about May 16. Traffic Signal at Routes 126 and 27 (Cochituate and Concord Roads) The signal is up and will begin flashing on Monday, Feb. 20, according to a message on the Wayland Police Department's page on Facebook. Since Boston Post Road is the most highly traveled road in Wayland and has the highest volume of traffic at any given time. I think the town needs to fix, repair and maintain the side walks along rt 20. It would be nice to connect the Weston Center with Wayland Center. The stretch of sidewalk would only be a little over three miles and much of the sidewalk currently exists. The Weston portion is …   more ›
