Monday Essentials: Paving Situation, Laptops, Fall Sports, Bee Documentary

A quick look at some essential information you need to know in Wayland this week.

Town Building Paving

The parking lots and access roads at Wayland Town Building will be repaved this week. There will be limited parking on Wednesday and Thursday, Aug. 21-22, but all town offices will remain open and fully staffed throughout the project. HOWEVER, all regularly scheduled Council on Aging Programs for Aug. 19-23 have been canceled.

Laptop Distribution at Wayland High School

There will be more traffic at Wayland High School this week than you've seen for most of the summer as students arrive to pick up their laptops. The full scheduled for pickups is available on the WHS website, but there will be pickups Monday through Wednesday, Aug. 19-21, this week and Aug. 28, Wednesday, of the following week.

Fall Sports Begin (kind of)

If you're just craving some fall sports, you're in luck: the Wayland High School boys' varsity soccer team is scheduled to scrimmage with Pentucket Regional High School on Saturday, Aug. 24 at 10 a.m. Tryouts for various sports are in full force this week, so see the WHS athletic page for details.

Encore Screening of "More Than Honey"

The Wayland Public Library will host a screening of the documentary "More Than Honey" on Wednesday, Aug. 21 at 7 p.m. The film is presented by A movie presented by BEElieve and Transition Wayland.

Prospective Member Cookout and Open House at Shir Tikva

If you've been looking for an opportunity to learn more about Temple Shir Tikva, make plans to attend Shabbat services at 6:15 p.m. Friday, Aug. 23, followed by an informal cookout during which Rabbi Neal Gold and member families will be available to answer questions.
