What if Wayland Town Beach Was Carry In/Carry Out?

What if the trash/recycling situation changed at Wayland Town Beach?

A trip to Wayland Town Beach reveals a clean expanse of sand and plenty of opportunities for guests to dispose of the trash and recyclables.

There are at least a half-dozen receptacles scattered around the beach area.

But are they doing the trick and what if they went away?

A Swampscott beach is conducting a "carry in/carry out" experiment that requires beach-goers to take all their garbage with them when they leave Phillips Beach. There are no longer any trash or recycling bins located there.

On a recent visit to Wayland Town Beach, the sand looked well-kept and litter didn't appear to be a problem. However, the multiple trash receptacles weren't exactly pretty.

We want to know what you think, Wayland.

Would you support a carry in/carry out policy at Wayland Town Beach? The trash and recycling bins would disappear, but do you expect litter on the beach would increase?
