Wayland Health Department Issues Heat Advisory

Cooling stations are available through the day in Wayland.

Wayland residents Wednesday afternoon received a reverse 911 call alerting them that a heat advisory had been issued.

The call warned residents to drink plenty of fluids, avoid prolonged outdoor activity and take advantage of air-conditioned locations.

It also noted that cooling centers would be open at the Council on Aging at Wayland Town Building Thursday from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Additionally, the Wayland Public Safety Building is available as a cooling station through Saturday or longer if needed.
