Let's send Peter Koutoujian to Congress

Dear Editor

I am writing to encourage my Wayland and Weston neighbors to vote for Peter Koutoujian in the upcoming Democratic special election primary for Congress on October 15th.

I have know Peter since I was his guidance counselor at South Junior High School in Waltham when he was in the 7th and 8th grades and I have followed his career of public service for 25 years with pride!

Peter has strong leadership skills. He spent 14 years as a state representative,  was chairman of the Public Health Committee and oversaw the implementation of the Massachusetts’ first of its kind healthcare law.  If elected, he is committed to the Affordable Care Act and he will bring his experience to the House of Representatives to provide much needed mentoring in setting the law in motion.  Also very important to me is that Peter is a strong advocate for women’s rights.

Peter was also chairman of the Finance Committee at the State House and would bring that skill set to Congress at a time when it is so needed. Among other issues, he will fight to protect Social Security and Medicare, lower the cost of college and increase funding for early childhood education.

I believe Peter will represent Wayland and the entire 5th District of Massachusetts with integrity and expertise.

Sincerely,

Ellen McBrien Courchene
