Wayland Ranks in Best Mass Schools for SAT Performance

Which schools had the highest scores this year?

By Roberto Scalese

The College Board has released it's annual survey of average SAT scores for schools. Boston.com has a slideshow with the top 15 schools. There are a lot of schools you'd expect at the top of the list in Massachusetts, along with a few surprises.

Wayland ranked 13 in the list with a total mean score of 1,791.

Topping the list? The Massachusetts Academy of Math and Science, a magnet school in Worcester, Mass. It's the Worcester version of Boston Latin, which ranked number four on the annual list. The academy had a mean score of 2042, which is about a 1400 on the old SAT scoring system that you remember from high school.

Other top-performing schools include Lexington, Newton South and Wellesley. Check out the full slideshow at boston.com.
