The calendar was updated during a July 30 School Committee meeting.

AUGUST:

Aug. 30 — Sixth grade orientation.

SEPTEMBER:

Sept. 4 — First day of classes for students in grades 1-12.

Sept. 6 — First day of school for students in kindergarten.

Sept. 17 — NO SCHOOL (Rosh Hashanah).

Sept. 26 — NO SCHOOL (Yom Kippur).

OCTOBER:

Oct. 8 — NO SCHOOL (Columbus Day).

NOVEMBER:

Nov. 12 — NO SCHOOL (Veteran's Day Observed).

Nov. 21 — Early release (No lunch served).

  • High school release - 11:10 a.m.
  • Middle school release - 11:15 a.m.
  • Elementary schools release - 12 p.m.

Nov. 22–23 — NO SCHOOL (Thanksgiving recess).

Nov. 26 — Classes resume.

DECEMBER:

Dec. 22–31 — Holiday recess; classes dismiss at normal times on Dec. 21.

JANUARY:

Jan. 1 — NO SCHOOL (New Year's Day).

Jan. 2 — Classes resume.

Jan. 21 — NO SCHOOL (Martin Luther King Day).

FEBRUARY:

Feb. 16-24 — Winter recess; classes dismiss at normal times on Feb. 15.

Feb. 25 — Classes resume.

MARCH:

March 29 — NO SCHOOL (Good Friday).

APRIL:

April 13-21 — Spring recess; classes dismiss at normal times on April 12.

April 22 — Classes resume.

MAY:

May 27 — NO SCHOOL (Memorial Day).

May 31 — Last day of classes for seniors.

JUNE:

June 9 — WHS graduation (3 p.m.).

June 18 — Last day of classes for students (Wednesday schedule).

June 19 — Last day for teachers.

June 21 — Last day for students if three cancellations occur in the year.

NOTES:

  • June 18 is the 180th school day if no days are lost due to cancellations.
  • June 18-21 should be considered tentative pending cancellations.
