Update on Search for Wayland High School Principal

A new Wayland High School Principal will begin on July 1.

The Wayland Public Schools are planning to announce their selection for a new Wayland High School principal during the week of Feb. 14.

So far, 43 candidates have applied for the post, according to Superintendent Paul Stein. The deadlines for applications was Jan. 6.

The Selection Advisory Committee will meet this week to create interview questions and next week, the committee will choose candidates for finalist interviews, Stein said.

During the week of Jan. 20, the district will announce finalists for the position. The district is hoping to choose a new principal by Feb. 14, Stein said.

Whoever is chosen will replace interim principal John Ritchie. In July, Ritchie replaced former principal Pat Tutwiler who resigned to take a job in Brighton, according to the Boston Globe.

The new principal will start on July 1, Stein said.
