School Committee, FinCom Meet Monday to Discuss Budget Guidelines

The School Committee has been given two budget guidelines with which to work.

The School Committee submiteed the announcement below.

The School Committee plans to hold a special meeting with the Finance Committee on Monday, Oct. 15, at 7 p.m. in the second floor School Committee meeting room at the Town Building to further discuss the Fiscal Year 2014 operating budget guidelines.

The Finance Committee has asked all town departments, including the School Department, to submit two operating budgets:

  • "One with level services (after being adjusted for steps and lanes, settled contracts, and utility changes) and ..."

  • "... one with a reduction of approximately 10% to help mitigate the potential impact for residents."

    • The School Committee encourages all community members to be a part of this process by attending this public meeting or by contacting any of the Committee members with feedback.
