New Principal Named to Marian High

The new principal, an English teacher at a public high school in Worcester, will start in July.

Marian High School has named John Ermilio, an English teacher at Doherty Memorial High School in Worcester its new principal.

He has worked in both public and catholic Schools and previously was the director of advancement at St. John's High School in Shrewsbury.

In an email to parents, Kara Kolomitz, chair of the Board of Trustees, said upon accepting the position Ermilio wrote:

"I am very humbled and grateful for this opportunity and the faith you and the Board have put in me. I look forward to working and partnering with you. My family and I are excited about getting to know the Marian community."

The president will have the responsibility of budgetary issues. The principal will oversee the day-today academic activities.

Marian High School, located on Union Avenue in Framingham, is a Catholic, college preparatory, co-educational secondary school for students in grades 9-12. Founded in 1956, today the school has about 315 students coming from 20 MetroWest communities, including Wayland. Some 98 percent of the graduates attend college.

Marian High will host its graduation for the class of 2014 tomorrow night.
