Selectmen Preview: Energy Update, Committee Interviews, Executive Discussion

The meeting will begin Monday at 7 p.m. at Wayland Town Building.

The Board of Selectmen will meet on Monday, July 8, 2013 in Wayland Town Building beginning at 7 p.m.  After reviewing the meeting agenda for the viewing public and making any announcements, selectmen will hear public comment, consider the consent calendar and review correspondence. 

At approximately 7:30 p.m., the board will interview citizens who have sought appointment to serve as members of boards and committees. Joe Lewin, nearing the end of his service as a member of the High School Building Committee, is stepping forward to interview for a seat on the Permanent Municipal Building Committee. Paul Brennan and Yiji Starr have been forwarded for consideration by the School Committee for consideration as their representative on the Audit Committee.

Next, selectmen will hear the report of the town administrator, who will review results of the traffic counts on Glezen Lane that determine whether additional mitigation measures will be installed as agreed in the judgment that concluded the litigation brought by 13 residents from that neighborhood. He will also review pending matters and review upcoming meeting agenda topics.

At 8 p.m., the board will hear an update from Anne Harris, chair of the Energy Initiatives Advisory Committee, who will report on solar projects and a strategy for multi-year investment in energy improvements in town and school buildings with savings re-invested for additional upgrades.

Later, selectmen will offer their reports and concerns, before convening  in executive session to discuss strategy and negotiations with respect to the litigation involving Twenty Wayland, LLC and the Wastewater Management Commission.
