A small group of Wayland residents is on the hook for huge sewer bills.

The bills range from $23,000 to $55,000, according to CBS Boston.

The group of about a dozen residents is connected to a new waste water facility in the Wayland Town Center development, and they are the only ones who must pay for it, CBS reports.

Town officials said they are trying to find a way to mitigate the high cost of the bills.
