Burglars Target Unlocked Cars in Wayland

A series of recent vehicle burglaries has Wayland police seeking the public's help.

detectives are investigating a series of vehicle burglaries that occurred late June 15 through early June 16.

According to a police press release, residents on Wayland's Russell Road, Old Connecticut Path, Davelin Road, Emerson Road, Wallace Road and Richard Road reported that one or more of their vehicles had been entered late Friday night or early Saturday morning.

All of the vehicles were unlocked at the time of the burglaries, and police are reminding residents to always lock their vehicles and remove valuables.

Police believe the burglars were looking for small items, cash and credit cards. A pair of sunglasses and iPhone were also reported stolen.

"Police ask anyone that may have observed anything in the area during the overnight and early morning hours of June 15 and June 16 to contact detectives at 508-358-4721," the press release requests.
