Wayland Police Nab Alleged Home Repair Scammer

After receiving word that a local resident had been scammed out of more than $5,000 by someone posing as a home contractor, Wayland police arrested a Framingham man following an interview at the station Thursday morning.

, 35, of 17 Winthrop St., Framingham, was arrested on charges of larceny over $250 by single scheme, operating as a home contractor without a certificate of registration and for reportedly having two outstanding warrants.

One of the warrants, issued out of Framingham District Court, was on a charge of larceny over $250 by single scheme tied to a "similar instance," Detective Sgt. Jamie D. Berger said.

Berger was listed as the investigating and arresting officer on a report submitted by the Wayland Police Department.

Guerra will be arraigned today in Framingham District Court.
