Wayland Police Looking for Two Suspects in Attempted Carjacking

The alleged carjacking occurred at about 4:30 p.m. on Edgewood Road in Cochituate.

Wayland police are on the hunt for two people after a man was carjacked on a quiet neighborhood street in Cochituate.

According to Det. Ruth Backman, the victim, a young man is safe. His vehicle, a red Ford Ranger, remains parked on Edgewood Road.

Backman said police originally responded to what they expected was a fight. When they arrived on the scene, she said they found a scene that they would characterize to be an attempted carjacking.

A K-9 unit from Waltham was called in to search for the suspects, but was initially unsuccessful.
