Wayland Police Logs: Wayward Canoe on Lake Cochituate

The following information was provided by the Wayland Police Department. Where charges or arrests are mentioned, it does not indicate an arrest.

Dec. 8 

2:40 p.m. – Caller reported an “aggressive” jogger on Concord Road. Police did not find anything when they arrived.

3:04 p.m. – Car crash on Boston Post Road.

4:02 p.m. – A caller reported annoying phone calls on Wisteria Lane.

9:03 p.m. – A caller reported walking by a Lake Shore Drive home and hearing water running through a pipe. The water was shut off.

Police performed eight car stops. 

Dec. 9

8:15 a.m. – A caller reported a water department road cover in the road.

8:18 a.m. – A caller reported a minor car crash on Boston Post Road.

8:31 a.m. – A caller reported a disabled car.

8:52 a.m.- A caller reported a car slid into a tree on Sherman’s Bridge Road.

12:06 p.m. – A caller reported finding an unattended canoe on Lake Cochituate near the Rt. 30 access road. Officers determined the canoe had been floating around for days, there was no information on anyone who may have been lost.

3:42 p.m. – Car crash on Glezen Lane.

Police performed nine car stops.

Dec. 10

12:55 a.m.- Disabled car on Concord Road.

10:57 a.m. – A school principal reported unauthorized dumping over the weekend at the Claypitt Hill School.

2:57 p.m. – Car crash on Pelham Island Road.

Police performed five car stops. 

Dec. 11

7:54 a.m. – Disabled car on King Street.

1:46 p.m. – A school principal reported a fox walking the playground of the Claypitt Hill School. Officers could not find the fox. 

5:43 p.m. – Car crash on Concord Road.
