Police Charge Natick Man with Assaulting a Pregnant Woman

The following information was supplied by the Wayland Police Department. Where arrests or charges are mentioned, it does not indicate a conviction.

Wayland police arrested a 25-year-old Natick man Monday after a witness said he assaulted a preganat woman at the Sunoco gas station on Main Street.

Det. Sgt. Jamie Berger said a witness at the gas station noticed a man, later identified as Patrick Poisson of 22 Stratford Road in Natick, get out of the passenger seat of a car and proceed to verbally threaten the driver, a woman who was later identified as his pregnant fiancee.

Berger said the witness heard Poisson threaten to kill the woman if she got out of the car. Further, Poisson also threatened to kill the witness if the police were called.

According to a press release, the couple left the gas station before police arrived, but the witness was able to record the license plate number. The witness also saw Poisson punch the woman in the head as the car drove away.

The Wayland Police Department issued an alert on the license plate number, and Natick police provided an address and information for the car. Police went to the house later Monday afternoon and took Poisson into custody.

He is expected to appear in Framingham District Court Tuesday morning.
