The Wayland Police Department responded to a call Monday night from a passerby who reported an argument in progress in the Especially for Pets parking lot at 44 Main Street.
According to Sgt. Ed Walsh, officers arrived at about 8:20 p.m. to find Franklin resident Yasmin Chalisa, 38, visibly upset and arguing with her husband. Walsh said that Chalisa apparently tracked her husband's phone to the nearby Starbucks, where he was having coffee with a co-worker.
Chalisa confronted her husband, according to police, and an argument broke out. Walsh said that the argument turned physical when Chalisa slapped her husband in the face and also removed her shoe and hit him with it. Walsh said the husband did not appear to have sustained injuries, but police did arrest Chalisa, charging her with assault and battery and assault and battery with a dangerous weapon.
She was released on bail and scheduled to appear in Framingham District Court.
