UPDATED: Firefighters Battle Second Vehicle Fire in 2 Days

A truck caught fire on Pinebrook Road in Wayland Wednesday.

Another day, another vehicle fire in Wayland.

For the second day in a row, Wayland firefighters Wednesday found themselves called upon to extinguish a vehicle blaze, this time, according to photos posted on the Wayland Police Department page on Facebook, under the hood of a pickup truck on Pinebrook Road.

On Tuesday, firefighters doused the flames that engulfed an enclosed equipment trailer being towed behind a pickup truck in Cochituate. The cause of that fire remains under investigation.

According to Fire Chief Vinnie Smith, Wednesday's call came in at 1:12 p.m. reporting a pickup truck on fire in the driveway at 15 Pinebrook Road.

Smith said there was some concern of the fire spreading to the house nearby, but firefighters arrived quickly and were able to douse the flames within 10-15 minutes. He said he wasn't aware of any damage to the house or any injuries.

Water from the fire truck tanks was used to extinguish the blaze.
