WAYLAND INCIDENT

At around 6:05 a.m. on Friday, Wayland police spotted a dark sedan traveling west on Old Connecticut Path near Rice road. The car failed to stop at a stop sign at the Rice Road intersection, according to court records.

An officer on patrol attempted to stop the car, but the driver did not stop until he reached the end of Pinebrook Road, according to court records.

The officer spoke to Ettwein and noticed he smelled of alcohol and had blood shot eyes, according to court records.

Ettwein initially told officers he had had one beer eight hours earlier and was coming from a friend’s house in Boston, according to court records. When officers asked, Ettwein said he did not know what time it was. Ettwein also told officers he was in Sudbury, according to court records.

Officers searched the car and found one harpoon beer, an unopened beer can, a smoke pipe, glass pipe, two knives, a lighter, three plastic baas and a grinder that contained marijuana, according to court records.

Police also issued Ettwein a civil citation for possession of less than one ounce of marijuana.
