2 Arrests, 2 Towns, 2 Days for Wayland Man

The following arrest information was supplied by the Sudbury Police Department and Wayland Police Department. It does not indicate a conviction.

A motor vehicle stop by the Sudbury Police Department on July 10 resulted in the arrest of a Wayland man, the second arrest for the man in two days.

According to Sudbury Police Lt. Robert Grady, an officer on patrol on Union Avenue in Sudbury heard a loud noise and witnessed a motor vehicle driving with a flat tire, which is illegal.

The officer also realized the motor vehicle matched a description of a car Marlborough police were looking for in connection to a crash with a guard rail.

After the Sudbury officer pulled over the motor vehicle and completed an investigation, Sean P. Haffey, 23, of 3 Williams Road in Wayland, was arrested and charged with:

  • Operating under the influence of alcohol (second offense);
  • Drinking alcohol from an open container in a motor vehicle;
  • Failure to display a registration sticker.

Marlborough police assisted at the scene, but Grady did not know whether Haffey would face charges in Marlborough.

Haffey is already facing charges in Wayland after an arrest by Wayland Police on July 8. He was charged with domestic assault and battery at that time.
