I write in enthusiastic support of Cherry Karlson’s candidacy for the Wayland Board of Selectmen. Cherry and I met soon after she and her family moved to Wayland 18 years ago. We served together on a task force on class size, and I felt then that Wayland was lucky to have in Cherry such an engaged, smart, and hard-working volunteer. She has more than lived up to the expectations set by this first impression.
Cherry is the epitome of the enlightened citizen volunteer. While many people have the desire to serve in town government, few come close to Cherry in backing up that desire with skill, experience, leadership, patience, objectivity, and good humor as demonstrated in her work on the Finance Committee. Please join me in voting for Cherry Karlson on April 1st.

Lea was a member of the Wayland School Committee from 1994 to 2003. She was chair of the High School Building Committee from 2004 to 2013.
