Supporting Argie Shapiro for Board of Selectmen

We are proud to support our friend and neighbor, Argie Shapiro, in her bid for a three-year seat on the Board of Selectmen in the upcoming April town elections.  Argie’s policy-making background, coupled with her many years of experience as an attorney, uniquely qualify her for this important position.  Argie is a leader and a consummate professional who will bring a breath of fresh air and new perspective to our town government.

Argie and her family moved to Wayland in 2008.  They have three young children, two of whom attend Claypit Hill Elementary School and play town sports.  We have grown to know Argie well, having spent many evenings sharing stories of our lives and our passion for cooking.  Argie is intelligent, energetic, warm, kind-hearted, and passionate about helping others.  Everything she does comes from the heart, including her desire to contribute her time and skills to our community.  Argie’s lifelong career as a prosecutor is a testament to her commitment to public service.

We firmly believe that, as a selectman, Argie will use her people skills to build consensus among the different town boards, employees, and residents.  She is experienced in establishing relationships among individuals and groups with different interests, and has received professional recognition for these accomplishments by her peers.  We know that Argie will work hard to ensure that decisions on issues affecting Wayland are based on objective, fact-driven analysis and prioritize the best interests of the town’s residents.  She is a hard-working person, and a results-oriented, independent thinker who understands the need for transparency, integrity, and trust in our elected and appointed officials.  With her boundless energy, enthusiasm, and warmth, we have no doubt that Argie will help restore respectful civil discourse and collaboration in our town governance.

We need a vibrant leader like Argie – someone who can effortlessly manage the demands of public office, and someone who has our community’s best interests at heart.  Please help Wayland by voting for her on April 1st.
