Endorsing Antes, Karlson and Nolan for Board of Selectmen

I am writing to endorse the candidacies of Mary Antes, Joe Nolan and Cherry Karlson for the Board of Selectmen.  All three have extensive experience with service to the town.  They will make excellent members of the Board for continuing progress in our community.

Mary Antes has served before as a member of the Board of Selectmen.  Most recently she has been Chairwoman of the 375th Anniversary Commemoration Committee.  Mary has proven herself to be committed to growing Wayland and creatively expanding our services to citizens.  She is a cool head who would keep us on an upward path while objectively evaluating both sides of all issue.

As most of you know, Joe Nolan has served as a Selectmen for many terms.  He has seen us through building of the new high school, passage of new ethics guidelines, passage of the new DPW garage, improvements to our town’s financial reporting and many other developments.  Joe has served as Chairman and is a proven consensus builder.  We need Joe to continue his good work to keep Wayland strong.

Cherry Karlson has been a member of the Finance Committee for years.  As Chairwoman, she has routinely spoken at Town Meetings to explain details of our budget preparation process.  She understands how town government works and the decisions that have been made.  We need someone with this background to make sure we’re getting the most for our tax dollars.

Please join me in voting for each of these candidates.  Let’s stay on a track of keeping Wayland the vibrant community we know and love.
