Helen M. (Tufts) Howland, Long-Time Cochituate Resident, WHS Grad

Gifts in Howland's memory can be sent to the American Cancer Society or a charity supporting breast cancer research.

Helen M. (Tufts) Howland died in Sudbury on Monday Aug. 5 after a period of declining health.

She was 93.

Howland graduated from Wayland High School with the class of 1937. She met her husband, Curtis M. Howland, at a Marlborough skating rink; the two were married for 70 years before his death in 2009.

The two lived on Hawthorne Road in Cochituate, where they raised their family and enjoyed beekeeping and gardening.

Visitations will be held Friday, Aug. 9, from 4 p.m.-7 p.m. at the Bryant Memorial Chapel of the John C. Bryant Funeral Home.

Howland's granddaughter, Pastor Corrine Howland, will then officiate a graveside services on Aug. 10, at 11 a.m at the Curtis family lot in Lakeview Cemetery.

The family suggested that those wishing to give gift's in Howland's memory to the American Cancer Society, 30 Speen Street, Framingham, MA 01701, or a charity supporting breast cancer research.
