PHOTO: Pelham Island Bridge Update

Work continues on Wayland's Pelham Island Road bridge.

As contractors continue to replace the Pelham Island Road bridge over the Sudbury River, visitors are being asked to keep their distance for safety reasons.

A recent update from Pelham Island resident Gary Slep said that heavy equipment and trucks working on the bridge create an unsafe environment for visitors. Slep will continue to provide updates to residents of the area, and Patch will re-publish Slep's updates periodically for the general public.

Currently the plan remains to replace the one-way bridge with a two-lane version that will open by November.
