Eat, Breathe, and Stretch Through Cold Season

Eat

Hot Spicy Soup
Cayenne used in hot spicy soups like Tom Yum Thai soup have anti-microbial abilities.

Stretch

Viparita Karani
"Legs up the Wall" pose is a simple inversion. With all inversions our lymph can now easily return from our lower body to our upper body. Lymph fluid carries germs into lymph nodes where they can be attacked by our immune cells.

To get into this position lay down on your back with your legs against a wall. Scooch your bum up against the wall. Hands relax upon your belly and just breathe your natural breath.

Breathe

Kapalabhati Pranayama
"Skull Shining" breath expels toxins from the lungs.

Sit comfortably in a cross-legged position. Place your hands on your belly. Become aware of you inhales and exhales. Notice with each inhale your belly expands and with each exhale your belly draws back in. Take three breaths. On your next exhale strongly draw your belly in creating a forceful exhale. Let your inhales be relaxed and natural. Repeat at first for five breaths. Complete with one deep in breath.  When ready increase number of breaths to 10 or 20. At any point if you feel dizzy please return to your natural breath. you may also find this breath warms up the body.
