Wayland Children and Parents Association Parent Enrichment Speaker with Lynne Griffin on “Proactive Parenting”

Join the Wayland Children and Parents Association on Thursday, November 8, 2012 from 7:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Wayland Middle School Auditorium to hear speaker Lynne Griffin, author of Negotiation Generation, discuss proactive parenting and how to take back your authority without punishment.  Today, our fast paced lives and changes in the popular culture have children claiming more independence than they can handle. Parents are losing their authority, negotiating with their children about everything from what to wear to school to when to go to bed at night. Lynne Reeves Griffin R.N., M.Ed. helps you reclaim your position of authority with a proactive approach to raising children. By establishing clear boundaries for what is and isn't acceptable behavior, you'll win the tug-of-war with your children—and forge a stronger, more loving bond because of it.  $5 suggested donation.

Lynne Griffin is the author of the nonfiction parenting guide, Negotiation Generation (Penguin) and the family focused novels Sea Escape (Simon & Schuster) and Life Without Summer (St. Martin's Press).  Lynne teaches in the graduate program of family studies at Wheelock College, and for the last two years, during the winter semester, Lynne has fulfilled the role of visiting scholar of education at Ngee Ann Polytechnic in Singapore. She is the family life contributor for Boston's Fox Morning News, and her fiction and nonfiction have been published in numerous journals and magazines, including The Drum Literary Magazine, the Boston Globe, Parenting Magazine, The Huffington Post, and Psychology Today.
