Weekend Happenings: Fall in the Air, Book Sales, and a French Film
We have a few options for your entertainment pleasure this weekend ... and you don't even have to venture far from home.
When/Where: Saturday, 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at Wayland High School (264 Old Connecticut Path, Wayland)
The Buzz: Students Against Destructive Decisions (S.A.D.D.) is hosting a fall festival with games, face painting, live music, dunk-a-teacher activities and much more. The community is invited to this event on the softball field at Wayland High.

When/Where: Saturday, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. and Sunday, at Islamic Center of Boston (126 Boston Post Road, Wayland)
The Buzz: The Islamic Center of Boston will open its doors and offer an array of activities, including tours and refreshments. Additionally, lectures titled, "Islam 101" and "Islam in our Midst: Threat or Opportunity" will take place.
Price: Free (Groups of 10 or more are asked to email OpenHouse@icbwayland.org with an arrival time).
When/Where: Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at First Parish of Sudbury (327 Concord Rd, Sudbury)
The Buzz: More than a century of success -- If that doesn't convince you this is worth your time, nothing else will. Arts and crafters from a variety of vendors will be on sale in 65 booths spread out at the historic parish. There will also be raffle drawings every hour.
Price: Adults, $3; children under 12, free
Friends of the Acton Library Book Sale
When/Where: Saturday, 9 a.m.-4 p.m. and Sunday, 2 p.m.-4 p.m. at Acton Memorial Library (486 Main St., Acton)
The Buzz: Book sales are a primary way for local libraries to support themselves and for book lovers to feed their habit. Sunday is half-price day.
Price: Whatever you care to spend on new reading material.
French Film Festival Screening of "The Artist"
When/Where: Sunday at 2 p.m. at Regis College (235 Wellesley St., Weston)
The Buzz: "The Artist" stole the hearts of critics and audiences alike last year, walking away with numerous Oscars. As part of Regis College's French Film Festival, the school is offering a free screening of this award-winning film.
Price: Free
