Weekend Happenings: Camp Fair, Winterfest, MLK Celebration and Parents' Night Out

When/Where: Friday, 7:30 p.m. at Wayland Middle School (201 Main St., Wayland)

The Buzz: This annual dinner and entertainment event celebrates the work of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. and serves as a fundraiser for the Wayland METCO program. The theme this year is “50 Years Later the Dream Still Marches On.”

Price: $12/person for chicken dinner; $6/person for pizza dinner; $5/person for program only.

Winterfest

When/Where: Saturday, 10 a.m.-4 p.m. at Weston Town Green (400 Boston Post Road, Weston)

The Buzz: This event celebrating Weston's 300th anniversary was rescheduled from earlier in the month ... when the temperatures were less than wintry. That shouldn't be a problem this weekend, so head to the Weston Town Green for sledding, ice skating, ice sculpting demonstrations, marshmallow roasting and lots more.

Price: Free

11th Annual Summer Camp Fair

When/Where: Sunday, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at Lincoln-Sudbury Regional High School (390 Lincoln Road, Sudbury)

The Buzz: Dreaming of summer (who isn't right now?) This annual camp fair will feature more than 80 camps of all varieties - day camps, overnight camps and even international camps - for kids in K-12th grade. Meet representatives from teh camps and receive assistance in choosing the perfect spot for your child or teen.

Price: Free

Art at Acton Coffee House

When/Where: Ongoing display; Acton Coffee House (340 Great Road, Acton)

The Buzz: An exhibit of artwork by Jonathan Smith and Cynthia Katz opened at the coffeehouse on Jan. 23. Escape the cold with a cup of something warm while you browse the works.

Price: Free

Parents' Night Out at Energy Fitness & Gymnastics

When/Where: Friday, 6:30 p.m.-9 p.m. at Energy Fitness & Gymnastics (1 H F Brown Way, Natick)

The Buzz: Drop the kids off for a fun-filled, active evening while you enjoy a night out. The evening includes cooperative games and activities, fun in the gym and a "wind-down" movie. Admission also includes a pizza and veggies dinner.

Price: Currently enrolled families $20 first child and $10 for each additional; Unenrolled families are $25 for the first child and $15 for each additional. Open to children ages 5 and up.
