The Wayland Police Department is seeking the public's help locating one of two suspects wanted in connection to an attempted carjacking on Edgewood Road Wednesday afternoon.

Police have obtained an arrest warrant for Elias Benjamin Breit, 21, whom they believe to be homeless. Breit is being charged with armed carjacking, assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, conspiracy to commit a crime and attempt to commit a crime.

According to police, Breit is one of two men who attempted to carjack a Framingham man Wednesday afternoon on a quiet Cochituate street.

Police responded to a call about a fight in progress on Edgewood Road at about 4:30 p.m. Wednesday. When officers arrived, they located the victim and determined the situation to be an attempted carjacking, possibly with a gun shown.

The victim told police two men entered his vehicle, a red Ford Ranger, and attempted to carjack him. When a fight broke out, the two suspects fled. Wayland police searched the area, calling in assistance from a Waltham K-9 unit, but were unsuccessful in locating the suspects.

Police identified Breit as one of the suspects, but are continuing to search for a second suspect, described as "a younger white male, approximately 16-17 years old, 5’10”, thin build, dirty blonde hair, dark baseball cap and dark jacket."

Anyone with information on Breit's whereabouts or the other suspect is asked to contact their local police department or the Wayland Police Department at 508-358-4721. Anyone wishing to remain anonymous can call the Wayland Police Department Anonymous Crime Tip line at 508-358-1726.
