Five Things You Need to Know Today: Sept. 13

The Walden Forum begins tonight and there are a few meetings going on tonight as well.

1. Walden Forum Begins Season. Greg Stone, executive vice president and chief scientist for oceans at Conservation International, will kick off the Walden Forum season with a talk about the world's ocean and how to protect them.

2. Job Hunting on Patch. We have a jobs board where you can search for a variety of jobs at locations throughout the country. It's there to be used, so put it ... ahem ... to work.

3. Conservation Commission and Economic Development. Just a couple of meetings tonight, both at the Wayland Town Building. Agendas are available online.

4. Did You See This? The Cochituate Breakfast Club will start up again in October. This is a time for fathers to enjoy breakfast with their elementary age children. and sign up.

5. He Wasn't Born in a Peach or Candy Factory ... but he immortalized both in his famous children's books -- namely, "James and the Giant Peach" and "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory." Author Roald Dahl was born on Sept. 13, 1916.
