Five Things You Need to Know Today: Aug. 28

Meetings, museums, Special Town Meeting Warrant and peaches.

1. Warrant Open. Monday night, selectmen voted to open the Special Town Meeting Warrant today at 8:30 a.m. The Warrant will remain open until Sept. 4 at 4:30 p.m. Look for our coverage of the selectmen's Special Town Meeting discussion at 6 a.m.

2. Last Gasp of Summer. Don't just let this week slide past -- it's the last week before the kids head back to school, and it's the unofficial end to summer. Why not take advantage of some of the museum passes available at the Wayland Public Library? Check out the list and reserve yours online.

3. Meeting Kick Into Gear. Along with the end of summer, comes the return of official meetings. The Zoning Board of Appeals meets tonight at 8:20 p.m.
