Tree Takes Out Power to Dudley Chateau, Surrounding Neighborhood

Nstar says power was initially cut off to about 700 customers.

UPDATE, 9:32 p.m. - Dudley Chateau was a victim of the power outage tonight. As of 9:30, the power is back on at the 'Chat, but there isn't any food being served.

Original Story - A tree fell on a wire in Wayland's Woodridge Road area Sunday night, cutting off power to 700 customers around 8 p.m.

Jim Connelly, a spokesman with Nstar, said tree crews and electric crews were on-site right away and power was restored quickly to nearly everyone.

Nick Haddad said on the Wayland Patch page on Facebook that Nstar advised him power should be restored by 9:30 p.m., but Connelly said about 100 customers, could remain without power throughout the night.

Crews are clearly working, however, as Jill Golden Zukerman posted just before 9 p.m. on the Patch Facebook page to say her power had been restored.
