5 Things: Town Election News, 375th Anniversary, Legos and More

A few things you need to know on Jan. 9, 2013, in Wayland.

1. Nomination Period Open. Ever considered running for a town office? Nomination papers are now available for the offices to be filled in the April Town Election. The papers are due back to the town clerk by Feb. 12.

2. Meetings Today. The kickoff of Wayland's 375th anniversary celebration year will be here before you know it. The 375th Anniversary Planning Committee is still hard at work. It will meet tonight at 7 at the Town Building. The Energy Initiatives Committee is also scheduled to meet tonight. Full details are available on the Town of Wayland calendar.

3. Did You See This? A new firefighter/paramedic was sworn in during a ceremony Monday night. Meet the new recruit and watch his swearing in.

4. Lego Club. It's time to put that imagination to work. Children 6 and up are invited to the Wayland Public Library today from 3 p.m.-4 p.m. to build Lego creations.
