5 Things: Nomination Papers, Cultural Council, Budget Meetings and More

A few things you need to know on Jan. 10, 2013, in Wayland.

1. Nomination Papers. If you're considering running for a town office this year, head to the town clerk's office and pick up the nomination papers. They're due by Feb. 12, and you need 50 signatures to be eligible. Check out the positions to be elected.

2. Wayland Cultural Council Reception. The council will welcome residents to a coffee and cookies reception tonight during which people can learn about the council and meet present and future members.

3. Meetings. The School Committee, Finance Committee, Economic Development Committee and Conservation Commission all meet tonight. Check out the Town of Wayland calendar for details and agendas.

5. Love On Your Houseplant Today. Today, Jan. 10, is Houseplant Appreciation Day, according to Holiday Insights. The day was apparently created by The Gardner's Network to remind people to tend to their houseplants after a busy holiday season.
