5 Things: Get Ready to Vote, Photography Display, Meetings and More

It's a short week leading up to Thanksgiving, but there's a lot to fit in to these three work days.

1. Nature Photography. As the weather turns colder and darker, think about enjoying nature from the indoors. The Sudbury Valley Nature Photographers' fall exhibit remains on display in the Wayland Public Library's Raytheon Room.

2. Vote for Our Cover Photo. We had several excellent entries to our Facebook Cover Photo contest and now it's time to vote for your favorite. You have until Wednesday to tell us which photo best represents Wayland and should be our cover photo.

3. Meeting Monday. The Board of Selectmen, School Committee, Recreation Commission and multiple other boards and committees meet today. Check out the Town of Wayland website for agendas and details.

4. Parent/Child Book Group. This book group meets at 7 p.m. at the Wayland Public Library and is for kids in fourth and fifth grade along with a parent. This month's book is The Sixty-Eight Rooms by Marianne Malone.

5. Gettysburg Address Anniversary. Today marks the 149th anniversary of the Gettysburg Address. On Nov. 19, 1863, President Abraham Lincoln delivered 272 words that would go down in history as some of the most famous every spoken on American soil.
