Carriage House at Lees Farm Opens Doors

Carriage House at Lees Farm, a new assisted living community managed by The Northbridge Companies, officially opened its doors last month in Wayland.

Carriage House at Lee’s Farm is a 62-unit, state-of-the-art, senior living community located at 134 Boston Post Road.  It offers independent living, assisted living and memory care. The two-story wood framed structure is approximately 54,000 square feet and includes a mix of studios and one- and two- bedroom units, all of which are customizable. The architecture of the building was inspired by the surrounding farm and the rich history of the site. Original sculpture installations by renowned Wayland artist Christina Zwart adorn the walls, providing a fitting complement to the farming landscape.

“We are thrilled to open the doors and welcome our first residents to the Carriage House.  The community is a stunning building with a unique character befitting the surrounding farm and the town of Wayland,” said Lara Sullivan, Community Director at Carriage House. “We’ve already welcomed 16 new residents and look forward to welcoming more in the days ahead. We also have several special events planned for the public in the coming weeks, so we hope many in town will stop by to say hello and see the new space.”

Carriage House features an array of amenities for its residents, including a salon and barber shop, computer lab, pub, theater, library, activity room with Wii technology, art studio, open and enclosed courtyards, and a grand dining room.

Northbridge also brings its signature programs to the new community, many of which emphasize sustainability. Through the Eat Fresh-Eat Local program, the community will source its kitchen food from local farms, seafood purveyors and vineyards. Chef Jason Wallin will also introduce a Cupcake of the Month and even bake special biscuits for residents with dogs. Through the “Senior Green” program, the Carriage House will employ energy conservation and protection of natural resources in all operations. The community will also offer a suite of amenities, including Northbridge’s signature “Brain Gym”, an innovative computer-based “mind fitness” program. In addition to keeping the mind sharp, the touch screen program allows residents to stay connected to family and friends.
