What's Still to Come at Wayland Town Center?

Been wondering what's going on at Wayland Town Center? Will a gym open there? What about Bottled of Wayland?

You've watched over the past several months as Wayland Town Center has come to life.

First, it was Stop & Shop with a full-fledged grand opening party. Soon after, Bertucci's joined the party and the stream of business just kept coming.

Orange Leaf, Subway, Unleashed by Petco, Anton's Cleaners, Elements, Panera Bread, Middlesex Bank and, most recently Joint Ventures have all opened their doors to Wayland and surrounding towns' customers.

In addition, there are a number of businesses on the cusp of opening. The Local Wayland has begun hiring and plans to open soon. Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center's offices will open soon.

But what now?

Patch has heard a lot of questions lately about what is still going to fill the several vacant storefronts that still exist at Wayland Town Center.

Here's what we know:

  • The space that was advertised as the storefront for Bottled of Wayland hasn't seen much activity lately. Patch's attempts to contact Bottled of Wayland have been unsuccessful. Currently, The Local Wayland is using the space as makeshift offices from which to conduct employee interviews. Additionally, documents available on the developer's website list the space as "Available."
  • The Facebook page and website for Body Zone Wayland, a fitness establishment, are now inactive. Of course, this doesn't necessarily mean the business isn't coming.
  • Fitness folks don't give up. According to documents posted on developer KGI Properties website, a space for Pure Barre is under negotiation. A second space is listed as having a signed lease for "Fitness."
  • Two other spaces are listed as "Under negotiation," like Pure Barre, but do not list possible businesses.
  • There are still about five storefronts in Phase I that are listed as "Available."
What do you think of Wayland Town Center so far? Have you enjoyed the services and establishments there? What would you like to see in those "available" spaces?
