Wayland Woman Joins Folding Bike Company

Jennifer Diffenbach has recently taken on a new venture.

The press release below was submitted.

Wayland resident Jennifer Dieffenbach has fitness in her blood. Her weekly schedule takes her from Sudbury to Natick to Wellesley where she teaches Pilates and Spin. Exercise can’t always be indoors, however — she’s frequently outside on her road or mountain bike. Most recently, she’s added a folding bike to her stable. And since joining fBIKE Direct as a sales associate (“Founding Pedaler,” reads her business card) and chief fitness officer, she’d like to add one to yours.

“One of my favorite quotes is James E. Starr’s ‘Melancholy is incompatible with bicycling,’” Dieffenbach relates. “Bicycling’s about more than just being happy, though — it’s a great part of a fitness routine.”

Asked how she got involved with fBIKE, Dieffenbach answers “A friend of mine and one of fBIKE’s founders does extensive business in China, and visits there frequently. He couldn’t help noticing that folding bikes were everywhere — unlike here in the US.”

Fast forward a year later, and fBIKE is a business bringing affordable folding bicycles to students, commuters and anyone who wants the mobility but not the space required by a full-frame bike.

So what does Dieffenbach use her fBIKE for?

“Sometimes it’s just a quick trip to the local post office or grocery store," she said. "But I’m often in Boston and need to be in several locations throughout the day. Because it folds, I’m allowed to take my fBIKE on the train. Once in the city, I can quickly get from place to place. With what I save on parking alone, it’s already paid for itself."
