The Local Features New Brunch Menu

The menu features local dishes and cocktails.

The following is from The Local Wayland:

The Local Wayland is pleased to announce its new brunch menu which features classic brunch fare, locally inspired dishes and signature cocktails served from 11-2:30 on Sundays. The new brunch menu, which was introduced in February, will keep with the Local’s philosophy of serving fresh regional items with locally sourced ingredients.

Since its opening in the fall of 2013, The Local Wayland has become the casual neighborhood gathering place for those who enjoy great food and great drinks in a relaxing setting.

Co-owners Frank Santo and Tom Wynn, who have been in business together since the opening of The Local Newton in 2008, said the expansion of their menu made sense.

“Brunch is a time to gather with friends and family whether it be casual or for a special occasion,” said Santo. “We wanted to offer our guests an upscale, yet affordable brunch menu where they could come and relax as they enjoy their weekend.”

The brunch menu is varied and offers a creative twist to classic Sunday favorites. A sampling of items ranges from croissant beignets w/ cinnamon sugar & crème anglaise, sweet potato pancakes buttercream with fresh berries and bourbon maple syrup to classic benedict house corned beef. Signature cocktails are always a staple regardless of menu or time of day.

In addition, the Local Wayland is now accepting reservations. Santo and Wynn explain this decision was based on feedback they were hearing from their guests.

“Listening to our guests and understanding their needs is our main priority,” said Wynn. “People want to come in and be seated at a specific time and we recognize that.”

Santo and Wynn also think the timing of this decision is key as they move into a very busy brunch season. “We hope our guests will think of us they make their Easter, Mother's Day, dance recital and graduations plans," added Santo.

As the warm weather approaches, The Local Wayland will also offer additional seating capacity on its outdoor patio. Future plans are in the works to serve patio late night dining and outdoor live music.
