Every week, local Patch editors will train the spotlight on a top-flight town restaurant or one that is right nearby.

Here's this week's choice:
The Local Restaurant, 1392 Washington St., West Newton

Greatest Dish Ever: The Prime Burger — This is a seriously tasty burger. You can get it topped with cheese or bacon, but the fresh veggies are plenty to bring out the flavor of the prime beef. Oh, and the hand-cut seasoned fries that accompany it are a nice touch.

Don't Miss: The fried pickles with spicy mayo. This appetizer is full of flavor (even without the mayo dipping sauce) and the light batter ensures the pickles stay crispy all the way to the bottom of the basket.

The Vibe: Casual chic

Cool Factor: The Local is so named for a reason. The restaurant takes pride in using ingredients from the region, but giving them an international twist. That means there is a seasonal menu that is always worth checking out. That local flare extends to the bar, which features a range of New England beers on tap as well as an extensive wine list.
