Wayland Back to School Lunch Menus Released

Wondering what your kids will be eating the first few days of classes in Wayland? Here's the deal.

Chicken nuggets? Pizza? Hamburgers? Spaghetti?

Among all the questions you ask as your kids head back to school in Wayland on Sept. 3, we'd like to help you answer at least one. Here's what your kids will be eating for lunch at Wayland elementary and middle schools during the first week of classes. 

Loker School, Claypit Hill, Happy Hollow, and Wayland Middle School
Tuesday, Sept. 3 - Grilled chicken patty on a whole wheat roll, California blend veggies, sliced pears.
Wednesday, Sept. 4 - Toasted cheese sandwich on wheat, baked zucchini "fries," strawberries.
Thursday, Sept. 5 - No School (Rosh Hashanah) 
Friday, Sept. 6 - Whole grain stuffed crust pizza w/ choice of toppings, fresh Caesar salad, pineapple tidbits.

Additional daily offerings at the elementary school level include: Tuna, chicken salad, turkey, peanut butter and cheese sandwiches on a wheat roll. Bagel lunch with choice of cream cheese, peanut butter or hummus available daily at Claypit Hill and Happy Hollow. Gluten-free pizza Fridays. Gluten-free warm turkey & cheese roll-up daily. Milk choices include: Skim, 1%, fat-free chocolate, Lactaid. Fresh fruit baskets available daily.

Additional daily offerings at Wayland Middle School include: Salad plates, grilled chicken patties, burgers (beef, turkey and veggie) on wheat rolls and fresh sandwiches. Fresh fruit and carrot sticks are served every day. Gluten-free pizza on Fridays and gluten-free warm turkey and cheese roll-up daily. Milk choices include: Skim, 1%, fat-free chocolate, Lactaid.
