Four Wayland Students Perform With Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra

Wayland students join the symphony for Wagner and more.

Four students from Wayland perform with the Boston Youth Symphony Orchestra's final concert of the 56th season. Boston Youth Symphony, BYSO’s premier orchestra, will perform Wagner’s Overture to Tannhäuser and Strauss’ Death and Transfiguration. BYSO’s Repertory Orchestra (REP) will also perform Shostakovich’s Symphony No. 5 under conductor Mark Miller.  The concert takes place on June 15 at 4 p.m. at the Sanders Theatre at Harvard University. 

The students from Wayland are: 

Andrew Chen, Wayland, 16, REP, Violin

Jeremy Liang, Wayland, 15, REP, Trombone

"Every Sunday for more than nine months, these young musicians have spent hours rehearsing together, sharing their love of music and disseminating this passion with audience members at concerts throughout the season," said Ern Keegan Ianni, director of Marketing and Public Relations. "BYSO pays special tribute to the 56 young students who will be performing their final concert with BYSO as they graduate from high school and continue their path in life."
