Weekend Happenings: Fire Trucks, Free Food and Alpacas

When/Where: Saturday, 11 a.m.-2 p.m. at Fire Station No. 2, 145 Main St., Wayland

The Buzz: Fire trucks, pizza, Sparky the Fire Dog and just general good times at the firehouse. This is always a fun event AND the weather is looking like it will be simply perfect.

When/Where: Sunday, 2 p.m.-4 p.m. at the Wayland High School Turf Field, 264 Old Connecticut Path, Wayland.

The Buzz: Wayland Youth Lacrosse is grooming the next generation of lacrosse players during this free clinic. Sticks will be provided and no other equipment is necessary. Come prepared for some basic drills and coaching. This will take place in an open house format, so drop in anytime.

When/Where: Sunday, 9 a.m. at Wayland High School, 264 Old Connecticut Path, Wayland.

The Buzz: This annual event is "a true cross country event" with the course taking runners through a variety of terrains. 3K races for children as well as a 5K open race for adults are all part of this festival. Registration is available the day of the event and the runs will take place rain or shine.

Price: $10 for the 5K; $5 for the youth 3K

Twillingate Farm Alpacas Fall Open House

When/Where: Saturday and Sunday, 10 a.m.-3 p.m. at Twillingate Farm Alpacas, 136 Hudson Rd, Sudbury.

The Buzz: Furry cuteness run amok. Ok, not amok ... more like a-calm, but the furry cuteness thing was right on. Stop by the farm and meet the four new babies born this year.

Price: Free

Bread & Spirit

When/Where: Sunday, 6 p.m. at South Acton Congregational Church, 35 School St., Acton.

The Buzz: The first Sunday of each month finds people gathering for free dinner, interaction and a variety of music running the gamut from "traditional with an edge" to folk to contemporary. The event is open to anyone.
