Wayland Police Announce Road Closings for Memorial Day Parade

Wayland's Memorial Day Parade Begins Monday at 11 a.m.

Wayland loves a parade - so traffic will be diverted on Memorial Day to make room for the festivities.

The Wayland Police Department has announced the following road closures near Main Street for Monday's ceremony, which begins at 11 a.m.:

The parade will proceed south on Main Street (Route #27) to Commonwealth Road (Route #30) where it will proceed west to Lakeview Cemetery.

From 10:50 a.m. until approximately 11:30 a.m. Main Street from the Middle School to Route 30 and Route 30 from Lakeview Cemetery to the Route 27 intersection will be closed. Others detours will be in place.

After the Memorial Day Ceremony at Lakeview Cemetery, there will be road closures on Pemberton Road, West Plain Street and Main Street from approximately 12:30 p.m. until 12:50 p.m. Motorists are advised to avoid this area if at all possible.

Weather for the parade looks great. After a cloudy morning, the sun will come and temperatures will rise to a toasty 84 degrees. A breeze of between 15 and 20 miles per hour will keep flags flapping.
